Your hosts love what they do – and you can feel that in every detail of the house … and see it too. After all, it won’t be long before you meet Bertram, Corina, Max or one of their two sons, Rasmus and Magnus, in person. Three generations of the Bischof and Steinfeld families live and work here – with a sense of ease that you can feel the moment you open the door.
Host and sommelier – awarded the title of Best Sommelier in Vorarlberg. Over 2,500 wines await the perfect moment in his treasure trove. Anyone who strikes up a conversation with Max about wine will quickly realise that there is a genuine passion behind it all.

Host and hiking guide – nobody knows the trails around Damüls better. Whether it’s a sunrise hike or a leisurely stroll, Corina will show you the region’s most beautiful spots, far off the beaten track.
The senior partner. Decades ago, by introducing the village’s first multi-storey showers, he laid the foundations for what the Alpenstern is today. His eye for detail and down-to-earth nature continue to shape the hotel to this day.
The Big One. He’s naturally part of the Alpenstern family – because this is where he’s growing up, playing and living. He knows where the cat sleeps and which is the quickest route to the lift. Perhaps the next chapter in this family’s story.
The little one. Full of energy and living in the same home as his brother – this special house at 1,580 metres. Only time will tell what he’ll do with it one day. For now, he’s exploring it in his very own way.
