As a hiking hotel, the Alpenstern welcomes guests who want to experience the mountains in a meaningful way. Hostess Corina Steinfeld is a hiking guide and is happy to share her favourite routes in person.

Narrow paths, varying altitudes and crisp mountain air make trail running in Damüls particularly varied. Routes start right from the hotel, beginning gently and leading further uphill step by step.

Whether it’s a short morning run or a longer session – plenty of opportunities arise along the way.

After a day of activity, a dip in the water is just what you need. The Seewaldsee in Faschina lies peacefully between mountains and woodland, whilst outdoor swimming pools such as the Waldbad in Au or the Mellau outdoor pool offer the perfect setting for a relaxing time – even with the family.

Sometimes a quiet afternoon is all it takes to feel completely at peace again.

The flight follows the landscape: over mountain ranges, valleys and the vast ridges of the Großes Walsertal. These are often moments of tranquillity in the air that linger in the memory for a long time

After a day in the mountains, it’s time for some peace and quiet. A long table, warm lighting, a glass waiting for the right person to share it with. Head chef Sandro Abel cooks with whatever the season has to offer – fresh, regional, and of two-toque standard.
