Our region is famous for its traditional alpine huts, where you can enjoy authentic, home-made products during a hike - such as the delicious cheese that can only be found here. Some alpine huts, such as the Oberdamülser, also offer weekly insights into the production of their specialities. Our reception will be happy to provide you with the current dates and advise you on the best huts in the area.
We offer you the best connection to your sleeping child with the "Luna Babyphone App" on your smartphone. Our reception will be happy to help you activate the app and answer any questions you may have.
We are happy to provide you with our baby package so that even our youngest guests feel completely at ease. It includes a baby cot, a changing unit, a nappy bin, a bottle warmer and a kettle - all free of charge. Your HIMMELREICH SPA bag contains a free bathrobe and slippers per person for your stay. If you need additional bathrobes or replacement slippers, you are welcome to request them at reception. The children's bathrobe will be ready in the cot on arrival. We also offer bathrobes for purchase in our hotel shop. If you need a different size, just let us know!
We attach great importance to protecting our environment. We would therefore like to ask you to pay attention to the following when using towels: Towelling in the bath or shower means "please wash", towelling on the hook signals "I'll use it one more time". In this way, you are actively helping to reduce water and energy consumption - thank you! Bath towels are also available for free use in the sauna and pool area.
Our hotel bar, honoured as "Bar Jewel of the Year 2025" by Falstaff, will whisk you away with a bar menu inspired by the drinking culture of the 1920s. Let our talented team of bartenders spoil you with customised tinctures and creatively reinterpreted cocktails. The bar opens its doors daily at 15:00 and invites you to enjoy some relaxing moments.

The Alpenstern is a partner of Bergaktiv and offers you numerous hikes and other activities. As a guest at the Alpenstern, you enjoy the advantage of taking part in Bergaktiv activities at a reduced price and sometimes free of charge. Simply register for the desired activities at reception.
The Alpenstern is ideally located directly on the ski piste of the Damüls-Mellau ski area. If you ski down piste 7, you will reach the "Oberdamüls" mountain railway directly. In summer you can use the UGA Express, which is located in the village centre - about 15-20 minutes' walk from the hotel.
Our staff at reception will be happy to take your flower order. The minimum order value is €30, a processing fee of €10 is already included. Please let us know in good time, as delivery usually takes around half a day.
From a stay of 3 nights, you will receive the digital Bregenzerwald Card free of charge during the summer season. This card gives you free use of all mountain railways and buses in the Bregenzerwald as well as numerous discounts. You will have received the link to activate the card by email before your arrival. We will be happy to provide you with further information at reception.
We are happy to provide you with free stationery and postcards at reception. We will of course take care of the postage for you, and the postage will be conveniently charged to your room bill.
The nearest train connection is at Bludenz train station, which is around 45 minutes by car from the hotel. The nearest bus stop is only about 500 metres away and can be easily reached on foot.
Would you like to extend your stay a little longer and continue to enjoy the amenities of our hotel? For a small fee, you can use our day spa and relax at the end of the day. Please vacate your room by 11:00 am at the latest. A late check-out or a day spa extension is possible depending on availability and can be requested at reception.
For extra cosiness, you will find an additional blanket on your sofa. If you need more blankets, simply contact reception - we will be happy to help you.

In our new underground car park you will find a secure bike room where you can park and lock your bike for the duration of your stay. For the perfect start to your bike tour, we have our own bike wash facility to ensure that your bike is always in top condition. You will also find the tools you need for minor repairs.
The name "Löffelspitze" comes from the mountain of the same name and refers to the fine significance of the spoon in gourmet cuisine. Enjoy a special fine dining experience in our Kaminstube with the best dishes, cocktails and exquisite wines.
For an additional charge, you can enjoy your dinner in the gourmet restaurant on three selected evenings.

Our fitness room on the 2nd floor is available around the clock and is equipped with modern Technogym equipment. If you fancy even more activity, you can find out about the current fitness and gymnastics programme in the weekly programme.

Damüls offers over 40 km of perfectly groomed high-altitude and cross-country trails for all cross-country fans. Maps and further information are available at reception.
For excursions in our beautiful mountain world, we already have a hiking rucksack ready for you in your room. If you need more rucksacks, please ask at reception. You can also hire hiking poles, umbrellas and hiking stretchers for the little ones from us. The sports shop Sport Madlener is at your disposal for bike hire in summer and ski equipment in winter. Tip: As an Alpenstern guest you receive a 10% discount there.
You can purchase day and multi-day passes for the Damüls-Mellau ski area at reception. All other ski passes are available at the lift stations and at the main ticket office at the UGA lift. Please note that once used, tickets cannot be refunded. On presentation of a medical certificate, a refund is possible up to certain times at the main ticket office - please clarify this directly on site.
If you are leaving before 07:00, we will be happy to provide you with a packed lunch for your journey home instead of breakfast. Please inform us by 18:00 the day before at the latest so that we can prepare the parcel for you.

The entrance door is closed from 22:00 to 07:00. You can use your key card to gain access at any time via the night entrances. One is located in the underground car park, another next to the main entrance by the ski access and the third at the bottom of the street next to the suppliers' entrance.

Each room includes a parking space in our own underground car park, which offers direct access to the hotel. Our underground car park allows you to arrive comfortably and regardless of the weather. You can conveniently leave your car in the car park for the duration of your stay. E-charging stations are also available. So your holiday starts and ends relaxed - just get in and drive off without a care in the world.
For early risers, the 14-metre indoor pool opens its doors at 7:30 am. You can also enjoy the 12-metre outdoor infinity pool from 10:00 a.m., from where you have a breathtaking view of the beautiful nature of Damüls and the Furkajoch.
All our rooms and lodges are non-smoking rooms. An outdoor smoking area is available on the ground floor in front of the lobby.
You are welcome to borrow our Alpenstern umbrella for rainy days. You will find these in your room cloakroom and at the main entrance.
Wherever possible, we source our products from the region. For example, the eggs come from the Mock chicken farm in Damüls, the cheese from the Bregenzerwald and the beef from Au. We wish you a good appetite while enjoying our regional specialities!
If a repair is necessary in your room, please inform reception immediately. Our in-house technicians will take care of it as quickly as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Close your eyes and enjoy pure relaxation in our relaxation rooms in the Himmelreich SPA. Please do not reserve any loungers in the SPA and pool area. Out of consideration for other guests, unoccupied loungers will be released by our staff after 20 minutes.
As our wellness area is a place of peace and quiet, we ask you to refrain from using your mobile phone - also out of fairness to other guests. Thank you for your understanding!
The name "Genusshalde" is derived from the location of our hotel in the Halde area. In our Genusshalde you can enjoy Austrian classics in a cosy atmosphere. In addition to the included Alpenstern gourmet board with breakfast from the buffet and the gourmet menu in the evening, we also offer à la carte options throughout the day. If you prefer to dine à la carte one evening, we will waive the half-board price. Please cancel your reservation at reception by 11:00 a.m. and reserve a table.
Our reception is open daily from 07:30 to 21:30. If you have any questions or requests, you can reach us directly from your room on extension 51.
In all our rooms you will find a safe for your valuables in the wardrobe. This can be secured with a personal code. If you have any problems using it, reception will be happy to help you on extension 51.

Our ski and boot room is located right next to reception on the ground floor and is easily accessible from the underground car park. After skiing, we ask you to always take off your ski boots immediately and not to walk through the hotel.
Every room guest receives a lockable locker, the number of which corresponds to the room number and can be opened with the room card. The locker offers enough space for your summer or winter equipment. If you have any difficulties opening or closing the locker, please contact reception.

Damüls is nestled in a picturesque mountain landscape, which you can explore on a variety of hiking trails. Our hotel has been awarded the Austrian Hiking Seal of Quality, which stands for high quality and service on hikes. Several times a week you have the opportunity to take part in guided hikes organised by the tourism association. Our host and hiking guide Corina will be happy to advise you and accompany you on the tours. You can find the exact dates and hikes in the weekly programme or at reception. You can also obtain hiking maps and other useful information there. You can also borrow walking poles and child carriers free of charge from reception.
We offer a practical service for your laundry. You will find a laundry bag in the wardrobe which you can fill with the items of clothing to be washed. Please fill in the enclosed note and leave the bag with the note in the shower or bath before cleaning your room in the morning. Your clothes will be back in your room freshly washed and ironed within 12 hours.
If you have clothes to be ironed, please also fill in the enclosed note. Your freshly ironed laundry will be returned to you within a short time. We will charge the costs to your hotel bill.
If you would like to iron your own laundry, we will be happy to provide you with an ironing board.
We are happy to organise the wake-up call service for you. Simply let reception know your preferred wake-up time and we will make sure that you are woken up on time.
Choose from our award-winning wine list with top national and international wines. We also organise regular wine tastings. The exact dates can be found in the weekly programme. We also offer our wines to take away so that you can enjoy your favourite wine at home.
The WLAN is available throughout the house. Simply select the "Alpenstern_free" network. A browser window will open automatically and all you have to do is click on "Connect". For an even more secure Internet connection, there is a LAN socket at the desk in every room.
When you leave the hotel, you are welcome to hand in your room card at reception. Your room card also gives you access to the night entrance on UG-2 (pedestrian entrance).
You can settle your room bill at any time. Please sign all receipts and always check your room number. Complaints cannot be accepted retrospectively. We accept payment by cash, EC card, Mastercard and Visa.
During the high season, we recommend that you settle your bill the evening before departure to avoid waiting times. The next morning, all you have to do is hand in your room card and you can leave in comfort.
